My boyfriend broke up with me, now I feel like i can't even live properly?

My boyfriend broke up with me yesterday. I care so much about him, and I didn't really expect it. I completely freaked out and couldn't handle it. I begged and begged for him to stop, but he didn't. He left. He said that he hasn't given up on me, and wants to remain friends. But I love him, and I want to be with him. I feel so helpless right now. I don't know what to do with myself. Talking to friends doesn't help. Nothing helps. I want him back so badly. How can I get him to change his mind? I haven't spoken to him since it happened.
