I'm wondering if I should remain celibate? (or just go for it...)?

Ok, so I've haven't had sex in over almost 4 years. Not b/c I've been avoiding it, I've just been focusing more on school and my priorities lately. I'm good looking (and 28 y/o btw). I've been trying to save myself in case I get into another serious relationship. I figure since I'm more of the submissive type, I don't wanna feel like a slut "IF" I do meet someone really worth it by having all this sex before him. But here's my dilemma, I really do want to have sex but I feel that a hook up will only leave me feeling worse or mess with my mind. My question is should I stay celibate, esp. with HIV and other stuff out there or should I just find a hot guy and get it out of my system?( or will that work??)...
